Combining experience in publishing and photography, Michal Heron has worked as a photo consultant for a variety of publishers and graphic design firms, managing their photo programs on a freelance basis.
Heron has developed strategies for accomplishing fine photography with the required editorial and graphic content, on time and under budget. This includes estimating budgets, devising forms and systems, developing photo specs or story boards with authors or art directors, hiring and supervising prop stylists, model and location scouts and photo researchers as well as shooting the photography, or, in some cases, assigning photographers worldwide. She handles the final edit plus post production digital prep through to the delivery of final image files. She’s aware of the legal implications of photographic usage and in touch with legal experts who can bring clarity to these issues.
Further, Heron has been active working with industry organizations, notably serving on the Board of Directors of the professional photography trade organization ASMP (American Society of Media Photographers), teaching and lecturing on photography at various venues including the Maine Photo Workshop and the Javits Center Annual Photo Expo.
Consider easing your burden by turning to Michal Heron’s expertise for solutions to your complex photo programs.
